Product description

The very effective flame retardant for polypropylene filament, fibers, tapes and films. Rangdaneh Sirjan flame retardant is a masterbatch which contains a bromine – containing organic compound with an effective synergist and a special stabilizer. The product can be applied at processing temperatures up to 230 C.
Rangdaneh sirjan flame retardant offers the following advantages:
- Very good processability in thin films , fibers and
tapes.
- Stabilization of the polymer mass against mfi
degradation.
- Very effective at low concentrations such as 2 – 5 % .
- Good metering properties in the form of free
flowing , non – dusting granules .
- Virtually non – corrosive .
- Practically no impairment of mechanical
properties.
- Practically no dulling of fibers or tapes .
- Good possibility of light stabilization .
- Good compatibility with pigments normally used in
p-p .
- No migration .
- Very good flame retardant effect without addition
of antimony tioxide .

FURTHER PROPERTIES AND POSSIBLE INTERACTIONS
CORROSION Rangdaneh sirjan flame retardant contains no sb2o3 as synergist and therefore exhibits a very favorable corrosion behavior with steel , as shown by the following test.
Corrosion according to ate 2003 after an addition of 5% Rangdaneh Sirjan flame retardant to polypropylene stabilized with 0.1% ca-stearate and 0.1% hostanox o 10.
3 mm thick pp plates containing the flame retardant were each pressed for 15 min at 240 c against highly polished steel plates to the type 316l with a pressure of 2 and 30 t. After wards the steel plates were stored for 24 hours at 100% r.h. and visual assessment was made of the rust development.

LIGHT STABILIZATION In p-p without light stabilizers, Rangdaneh Sirjan flame retardant does not cause reduction of the light stability of the fiber, if light stabilizers are added , the influence of the flame retardant on the effect of the light stabilizing agent must be tested.
Generally it is not advisable to use HALS type light stabilizers, as they are normally not compatible with organic halogen compounds.
INTERACTION WITH PIGMENTS
Neither an influence on the shade of pigments nor dulling effects should be expected when using Rangdaneh Sirjan flame retardant in there commended concentrations, also influences of pigments to the flame retardant efficiency of the product are unlikely, however, all pigments used in combination with rangdaneh sirjan flame retardant should be tested in pre-trials.
GAS FADING
As the gas fading behavior can be strongly influenced by spin finishes and stabilization systems, it is recommended to carry out tests with the final products containing Rangdaneh Sirjan flame retardant.
